We’re halfway through the week, folks!
It’s been a really nice week so far. Although a lot of things have been going well, one nice change this week has been having more frequent meals with my roomie. Although we see each other pretty frequently, we rarely eat together because Miss Smarty Pants has been busy studying for exams and boards so that she can be my doctor in the future
So, we moved into our apartment in June and weren’t quite sure if we were going to live here for more than a year, so our decorating and furnishing kind of flew to the wayside. To be more specific, our decorating never happened, but the only piece of furniture we actually need to get is a coffee table.
We normally eat at our dining table, but the past few meals, she’s been watching my season 2 DVDs of Modern Family, so I’ve joined her in the living. We eat some of our dishes family-style, which is why we set up our make-shift table
We’ve never felt the need to really get a coffee table until now because we both don’t watch t.v. at all, but now that we’re going to extend our lease for another year come June, we figured it’s about time to start scouting one down. Oh, maybe we should actually put something up on our completely blank walls, too.
Tonight, we avoided the awkward chair legs and just set a lazy susan on the floor and plopped down for another episode (or two) of Modern Family.
Since my roommate is Catholic and can’t eat meat today (Ash Wednesday), I cooked up some Gardein Spicy “Chik-n” Wings, tossed together a simple salad of bell peppers + spinach + goat cheese, and we heated up some of the veggie-fied marinara I made the other day.
The random meal choices were delicious and really filling.
Even the most ridiculous meal set-ups can feel completely perfect when you’re having a low-key night with a good friend. You should try it sometime; it makes eating a little more fun
Now for the moment you’ve been waiting for!
